Introducing DOOD
DOOD is the official token of Doodles and its ecosystem. DOOD launched on May 9, 2025, on Solana, and currently has a market cap of around $47 million. The most popular CEX for DOOD is Bybit, while the most popular DEX is Meteora. You can check if you are eligible for a DOOD airdrop at the official airdrop portal at https://dood.doodles.app/. Solana-native communities, such as BonkBot, Bonk, drip.haus, Solana mobile, along with Doodles NFT holders, are eligible for the airdrop, with claims open for 77 days post-launch (~25 July 2025).
While the Doodles NFT collection is on Ethereum, DOOD will launch on Solana as they believe in finding “the best place for a particular product.” According to Scott Martin in an interview, the creator of Doodles and its new CEO, it will “initially hit the market as a meme coin” although he also mentions that he’d rather not “call it a meme coin per se.”
This is reminiscent of Pudgy Penguins’ PENGU, which was also launched on Solana, taking advantage of Solana’s fast transactions and cost-effectiveness. With Solana being arguably the busiest blockchain network, with a far larger number of daily transactions and daily active addresses, launching on Solana will take DOOD to a wider audience.
Do note though, that as DOOD will be launching on Solana, Doodles holders will need to create a compatible wallet on Solana to claim their airdrops.

Doodles is also planning to bring DOOD to Base, the busiest Ethereum L2 and also a popular destination for memecoins. Doodles has also previously built products on Base – the DoodlesTV Super Pass and the Stoodio character customization platform.
While DOOD will launch as a memecoin, there are plans for DOOD to evolve into a utility token that can be used across a gamified ecosystem of Doodles-related apps, supercharging Doodles’ efforts in promoting creativity in the arts and NFT fields. Martin shares that one of these could be an app where users spend DOOD to slowly lower a large, expensive sculpture into a car crusher.

Ultimately, when pressed in an interview for reasons on why Doodles was launching its own token, Martin states “we have a fiduciary duty to bring value to our holders... and DOOD could be a very competitive and valuable asset in this new market.”
The Lord of the Files Social Game
As part of Doodles's goal to build a decentralized storytelling movement, they've launched the Lord of the Files social game, where users can win over 3.5 million DOOD. To participate, users need to mint employee passes with DOOD (where mints = lives), before they get assigned to a department manager. They need to keep these department managers happy by searching for content they love and tagging them as tribute on X.
Mint will conclude on Wednesday May 14 at 4PM ET, with the snapshot to devide teams and lock in departments occurring on May 15 at 11.59PM ET. Users can register by connecting their Solana wallet, EVM wallet, and X account.
Every day, one player from each department must choose between saving themselves (and sacrificing teammates), or sacrificing themselves.
DOOD Tokenomics
The total supply of DOOD is 10 billion. According to the published tokenomics details, 68% of the total supply will be allocated to the community and community growth efforts. This includes 30% to current holders of Doodles NFTs and 13% to attract new members to the Doodles community. Allocations to the team and company (22%; 17% to the team and 5% to the company) will be vested for three years with a one year cliff.

Given that Pudgy Penguins’ PENGU is currently ranked #140 by market capitalization on CoinGecko, a similarly optimistic trajectory could be expected for Doodles.
What Is Doodles?
With a cumulative following of 1.6 million across multiple social media platforms and 8.9 Billion views on posts and shared multimedia, Doodles has become a popular brand. According to published data, the project has distributed over 100 million physical items, and songs associated with the NFT project have been streamed over 89 million times.

Doodles was launched in 2021, featuring an NFT collection of 10,000 cartoon drawings featuring unique traits including the iconic Rainbow Puke. It was launched on Ethereum and is currently the 9th biggest NFT collection based on floor price. At the time of writing, the floor price of the Doodles NFT is around 4 ETH, according to data from CoinGecko.

62 of the collection’s artworks are hand-drawn Custom Doodles by Scott Martin (aka Burnt Toast), one of the three launch team members of the project. Scott Martin is a Canadian-based illustrator and designer with ties to notable projects like Google, WhatsApp, and Snapchat. Making up the team includes Jordan Castro and Evan Keast, both of the CryptoKitties fame. Following the launch of the NFT collection, the project appointed Julian Holguin, former President of Billboard, as its CEO. Doodles’ fame further grew when they announced the addition of popular musician Pharrell Williams to the team as the Chief Brand Officer.
Since this time, Doodles have grown into one of the most popular PFP (Profile Picture) NFTs with popular collaboration and an ecosystem of products that improve holder and community experience. On June 28, 2022, it announced the launch of Doodles 2. Doodles 2 was meant to expand the reach of the Doodles NFT, as the team believed the 10,000 supply of the original Doodles NFTs limits the community growth and access to its offerings. Doodles 2 brings more modularity and expands access to the ecosystem. Doodles 2 and the Stoodio was launched on the Flow blockchain, allowing anyone to mint a base Doodles NFT with personally chosen traits.
On September 13, 2022, about three months after announcing Doodles 2, the project announced that it had raised $54 million at a $704 million valuation in a funding round led by Seven Seven Six, a VC firm by Reddit Co-founder, Alexis Ohanian. Other participants in the funding event include Acrew Capital, FTX Ventures, and 10T Holdings.
On January 28, 2025, Scott Martin announced that he was stepping in as the CEO of the project. He cited the need for a strong bias for risk, disruption, radical transparency, and the authenticity that helped propel the project to fame and success, moving away from its “extractive” corporate-focused practice that threatened to alienate the project’s core users.

In addition to the original Doodles NFT and Doodles 2, the Doodles project consists of several other notable products. This includes;
Dooplicator
The Doodles 2 announcement included a note on the activation of the Dooplicator. Like the collection itself, the Dooplicator is an NFT. It is a device that enables the ‘Dooplication’ of Doodles NFT items. Dooplicator holders are able to create variable versions of their Doodle NFT and items as a way of expressing themselves and their artistry. Holders can customize the wearables, hairstyles, bodies, and emotions of their NFTs.
The Dooplicator NFT is of three types; the Very Common Dooplicator allows holders to create only one variant of the NFT item, the Common Dooplicator allows holders to create two variants of their NFT item while the rare Dooplicator can create three variants of an item. The Dooplicator NFT collection consists of 9,375 units, this includes 6,250 Very Common Dooplicators, 2,085 Common Dooplicators, and 1,040 Rare Dooplicators.
Space Doodles
Space Doodles accompany each Doodle in the collection. They are spaceships for Doodles with unique traits that are tied to their companion Doodle. Space Doodles are inspired by space exploration and are generated from over 200 audio-visual traits and on-chain stats. When Doodles NFTs board their Spaceship and ‘launch’, they transform into Space Doodles, on ‘docking’ (disembarking) they return to being normal Doodles.
The Space Doodle has two Primary traits; the Spaceship which is the Doodle Carriage and the Thruster which propels the Spaceship. There are 30 unique designs for the Spaceship. Other traits include the Nearest Planet Type and the Sector.
Note that the Space Doodle is also the Doodle NFT and cannot be sold separately.
Doodles and Real-World Partnerships
The Doodles NFT project has scored a handful of notable collaborations and partnerships with real-world projects and individuals.

The McDonald's partnership is one of Doodles’ biggest mainstream partnerships. On November 14, 2024, the NFT project announced that it had partnered with the fast food giant for a holiday-themed event. As part of the partnership, images of the Doodle NFT characters will be featured on over 100 million McCafé x Doodles Holiday cups, introducing the NFT project to McDonald’s customers across the U.S, while the Doodles community purchased McCafé drinks for the Doodles cup, sharing these on Twitter with #goodmornin

In addition, McDonald’s customers will also receive unique codes that unlock exclusive gifts including NFT giveaways. Meanwhile, Doodles NFT holders had the opportunity to purchase special packs that offer limited Wearables and McDonald’s pins.
Doodles and Pharrell Williams
In June 2022, Doodles announced musician and 13-time Grammy winner Pharrell Williams as its Chief Brand Officer. As the Chief Brand Officer, Williams helped to shape the NFT collection’s approach to music, artwork, animation, and more. Together with other artists, Pharell Williams released Can’t Hold Me Down, a track from the Doodles short film Dullsville and the Doodleverse.
Golden Wolf Studio Acquisition
On January 13, 2023, Doodles announced that it had acquired Golden Wolf, an Emmy-nominated animation studio. The acquisition would see the executives of the studio join the Doodles NFT creative team as well. Sequel to the acquisition, Doodles will utilize the studio for its creative endeavors, however, Golden Wolf will continue to operate independently according to the partnership announcement.
Final Thoughts
The announcement of the DOOD token certainly excites the Doodles NFT community. Apart from the expected rewards to existing holders and contributors, the token launch is a positive addition to the already expansive Doodles ecosystem and will bring more engagement to the community. This engagement could be in the form of progressive governance programs (that involve tokenized community opinion through DAO votes) and promotional programs that draw widespread participation through incentivized community participation.
The structure of the DOOD token is still in development, and details of its utility and distribution are yet to be announced at the time of writing. By launching a native token, Doodles follows in the footsteps of Pudgy Penguin and their likes. At launch, the project will hope to expand its community on the Solana and benefit from the chain’s large user base and liquidity.
Having said this, keep in mind that the DOOD token is designed to serve the Doodles community and ecosystem. There are no guarantees of generating profit from holding or trading the token. Also, note that this article only discusses the DOOD token and Doodles NFT collection for informational and eductional purposes only; it is not financial advice.
