What Is DeGate

DeGate is a self-custodial multichain crypto wallet designed to bring core crypto activities into one interface. Instead of juggling multiple wallets, bridges, and DeFi apps, users can swap, send, earn, and hold assets — including tokenized stocks — from a single unified balance.

DeGate is non-custodial: private keys stay with the user at all times, and no operator takes custody of funds.

DeGate originally operated as an order book decentralized exchange on its own Ethereum Layer 2 ZK-rollup. That product was sunset in June 2025, and the self-custody wallet, launched in December 2024, has been the project's sole product since. The DG token is the DeGate protocol token on Ethereum, part of the original protocol's governance, through which the community participates in decisions about the project's direction.

DeGate originally launched as an order book decentralized exchange on its own Ethereum Layer 2 (a ZK-rollup). All DEX-specific features — including order books, grid trading, and Layer 2 deposits — have since been discontinued.

Across every product iteration, one principle has carried through: users hold their own keys.

Tokenized stocks:

Ongoing security hardening of the wallet continues alongside feature work, and the product remains fully non-custodial throughout.

DG is the DeGate protocol token on Ethereum. It originated as part of the original protocol's governance design: DeGate was structured as a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), and DG served as the token through which the community participated in decisions about the protocol's development and parameters — including protocol proposals and allocation of the DAO treasury.

Following the project's transition from the order book DEX to the self-custody wallet, DG remains the project's token on Ethereum. Any future role for DG would be communicated through DeGate's official channels.
