Hyperliquid's daily protocol revenue is set to rise by an estimated 18.06% in October 3, 2026 once its Aligned Quote Assets v2 (AQAv2) framework begins generating cash flow to the Assistance Fund (AF), the on-chain wallet responsible for HYPE buybacks.
What Is AQAv2?
AQAv2 is a framework designed to ensure that stablecoins deployed on Hyperliquid are aligned with the Hyperliquid ecosystem. In May 14, 2026, a deal was made that involved USDC issuer Circle and treasury deployer Coinbase. It was agreed that Hyperliquid’s official stablecoin, USDH, would sunset and for USDC to take its place. In return, ~90% of the reserve yield generated by USDC deposits on Hyperliquid would be shared with the Hyperliquid protocol, and go towards HYPE buybacks.
Hyperliquid-USDC Deal Timeline
This AQAv2 deployment timeline unfolds across these several dates, while some users on X have flagged out the August 26 date, the actual important date to watch for is October 3, 2026.
-
June 8, 2026: AQAv2 activation, publication of Coinbase’s treasury wallet address (0xc20699185c15D0a2fD65779BB5d69f5b0B113c00)
-
August 26, 2026: Reserve yield accrual begins. Largely symbolic with no cash moves yet.
-
October 3, 2026: Expected first payments to the Assistance Fund. The real catalyst with actual buy pressure placed on HYPE.
AQAv2 Revenue Projections
At the time of writing USDC deposits on Hyperliquid totals $6.74B. Under a base-case 3% treasury yield assumption and with ~90% of yield being directed towards Hyperliquid, we estimate AQAv2 could add ~$498,575 in daily revenue for additional HYPE buybacks, or $182M in annual revenue.
The current trailing 7-day average daily revenue of the Hyperliquid protocol is $2.76M as of August 19, 2026, which means this upcoming revenue source would raise Hyperliquid’s expected revenue by ~18.06%.
Worth noting, current 3-month Treasury bill rates sit at approximately 3.67%, comfortably above our 3% base-case assumption. This suggests our estimate is likely conservative rather than aggressive.

Baseline: $2,761,383 trailing 7-day average daily revenue as of August 19, 2026. Formula: Total HL USDC (live) × yield rate × 90% protocol share ÷ 365 days.
Conclusion
While it is not an assurance of prices, revenue remains a key predictor for the HYPE token due to its uniquely high revenue buyback policies. Compared to most other crypto tokens, Hyperliquid currently directs 97-99% of protocol revenue to HYPE buybacks.
This gives Hyperliquid the unique property of being able to be priced like a stock, with analysts from digital asset manager Grayscale, even releasing a report in May 2026, where HYPE traded at a 14x multiple (lower is better) — less than a third of comparables like Robinhood and Interactive Brokers, which trade in the 35-50x range.
Overall, market sentiment toward HYPE is notably bullish heading into that date: Polymarket currently prices an 80% implied probability that HYPE breaks $90 by the end of 2026.
Methodology
Daily and 7-day average revenue figures are sourced from CoinGecko and DefiLlama on-chain data. The AQAv2 daily revenue add-on is calculated as: Total HL USDC (live) × yield rate × 90% protocol share ÷ 365 days, using a $6.74 billion USDC reserve figure and the 2%/3%/5% yield rate scenarios as published on Hyperliquid's hl.eco AQAv2 dashboard. The 3% "Base" case reflects hl.eco's own labeled conservative estimate.
This is a forward-looking, scenario-based estimate, not a forecast of actual trading revenue. The $2,761,383 baseline (trailing 7-day average daily revenue as of August 19, 2026) is held flat for illustrative purposes only; Hyperliquid's actual trading-fee revenue will continue to fluctuate independently of the AQAv2 add-on. The projection also assumes a static $6.74 billion USDC reserve — actual deposits may grow or shrink before October 3, which would change the add-on independent of the yield-rate assumption. Key dates (accrual start, first payment) are derived from Hyperliquid's official documentation on Aligned Quote Assets.
