Meet The CoinGecko MCP Hackathon 2025 Winners

The CoinGecko MCP (Model-Context Protocol) Hackathon brought together a global community of builders to redefine how AI interacts with real-time crypto market data. From July 15 to August 15, 2025, developers leveraged the CoinGecko MCP to create innovative projects. The innovation on display was inspiring, with projects ranging from AI-powered market analysts to voice-activated crypto market intelligence. Each submission demonstrated the core purpose of the CoinGecko MCP: to enable AI agents and large language models (LLMs) to access and utilize our reliable, real-time crypto market data.

After evaluating each project's innovation, usefulness, and community engagement, we're excited to announce the 10 winning projects.

Hackathon Judging Criteria

Projects were judged on three core criteria:

• Innovation: We sought out the most original ideas that explored new applications of AI and crypto data.

• Usefulness: We looked for projects that solved real problems for crypto users.

• Community Love: Community voting played a crucial role, showcasing the projects that resonated most with the wider crypto community.

Each of the 10 winners received a prize package valued at over $1,300, which included a 1-year complimentary CoinGecko Analyst API key and 30 million Claude AI tokens.

Most Innovative: Ask Siri About Crypto by Tan Wei Hup

This project explores a futuristic idea: what if you could get real-time crypto market data just by speaking to Siri?

Ask Siri About Crypto is a voice-activated application that connects to the CoinGecko MCP to deliver live cryptocurrency information directly to you. The project leverages Claude AI to process natural language requests, fetch data via the CoinGecko MCP, and then provide a spoken response. It’s a seamless blend of AI, real-time data, and a voice interface.

Most Useful: Crypto Trading Simulator by Myriam Chahlafi

Designed for beginners, this Crypto Trading Simulator provides a risk-free environment to practice crypto trading. Users get $1,000 in virtual cash to experiment with placing trades powered by real-time CoinGecko data from the MCP. The interface features a portfolio tracker and a "What If" calculator, allowing users to analyze the potential outcomes of single or dollar-cost averaging (DCA) investments. This tool transforms passive crypto learning into active, data-driven experimentation, making it an incredibly useful tool for individuals new to crypto trading and investing.

Community Love: GeckoPilot by Muhammad Ramadhani

GeckoPilot is an AI crypto analyst that provides real-time market analysis through natural conversation. By integrating CoinGecko's MCP with OpenRouter, it gives users professional technical and fundamental analysis with live prices, top gainers/losers, and trending coins. GeckoPilot transforms raw CoinGecko data into digestible, expert-level analysis, making it more accessible to a wider audience. It also lets users act on that analysis by purchasing tokens and viewing their holdings in a single interface.

Crypto Weather Forecast Extension by Wong Jun Shen

The Crypto Weather Forecast Chrome extension visualizes crypto markets as a weather widget right in your browser. It uses real-time market data powered by the CoinGecko MCP to display the current "weather", a five-day forecast, and volatility/sentiment indicators in a clean modal. It's a creative tool for getting market insights at a glance.

Blotchain by Vadym

Blotchain offers a dynamic visualization of cryptocurrency liquidity flows. The platform translates complex liquidity data from the CoinGecko MCP into an animated network. Chains are represented as nodes, with their sizes reflecting liquidity volume, and animated streams show how capital moves between chain ecosystems. This provides a visual view of market dynamics beyond traditional charts.

Crypto Market Prediction by SK

Crypto Market Prediction offers an engaging prediction market where users can make real-time predictions on market trends and earn mock rewards for accurate forecasts. The prediction questions are automatically generated based on real-time data obtained via the CoinGecko MCP, ensuring the prediction market is always current and relevant.

Cryptomap by Ong Wai Kien

Cryptomap offers a new way to visualize crypto markets by representing countries as token tickers based on market cap. By combining real-time crypto data from the CoinGecko MCP with country size data, it provides a fresh visualization of the digital asset landscape.

CoinCub by Irwin Low

CoinCub is a Telegram bot that acts as an intelligent market data assistant. Powered by a combination of CoinGecko's MCP and a large language model (LLM), it provides comprehensive, real-time insights by combining live market data with summarized narratives. With a smart conversational interface for both private and group chats, CoinCub provides accurate, on-demand analysis and market narratives, making it a valuable tool for staying informed market developments directly within a messaging app.

CoinGenie by Cem Denizsel

CoinGenie is an automated X (Twitter) mention responder. It uses n8n to scan for mentions, detects crypto markets related questions, and queries the CoinGecko MCP server via LangChain to automatically reply with live data. Users can simply tag @NexArb_ on X with a crypto-related question and receive a real-time response.

Crypto Weather by Sabali Mthunzi

Crypto Weather turns cryptocurrency charts into weather forecasts. The app provides five-day price predictions and a global crypto "climate" view. It's a creative way to follow crypto markets, complete with AI-powered insights and weather-themed alerts, all powered by the CoinGecko MCP.
