Market Cap / FDV
The proportion of current market capitalization compares to market capitalization when meeting max supply.
The closer the Mkt Cap/FDV to 1, the closer the current market capitalization to its fully diluted valuation and vice versa. Learn more about Mkt Cap/FDV here. |

Fully Diluted Valuation
Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV) = Current Price x Total Supply
Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV) is the theoretical market capitalization of a coin if the entirety of its supply is in circulation, based on its current market price. The FDV value is theoretical as increasing the circulating supply of a coin may impact its market price. Also depending on the tokenomics, emission schedule or lock-up period of a coin's supply, it may take a significant time before its entire supply is released into circulation. About Bitlight (LIGHT)
Bitlight is a Bitcoin Layer 2 infrastructure project designed to enable smart contracts and scalable asset issuance on the Bitcoin network.
- Utilizes the RGB protocol and Lightning Network to facilitate private, high-speed, and low-cost transactions.
- Unifies asset management through the Bitlight Wallet, supporting both native Bitcoin and RGB-based assets.
- Introduces the RGB Lightning Network Node (RLN) to enable decentralized finance (DeFi) and PayFi applications on Bitcoin.
What Is Bitlight
Bitlight is a protocol suite built to expand the utility of Bitcoin beyond simple value storage. It positions itself as a "Make Bitcoin Smart" initiative by integrating client-side validation through the RGB protocol with the speed of the Lightning Network.
The system allows for the issuance and management of digital assets, such as stablecoins and tokens, directly on the Bitcoin ecosystem without causing main-chain congestion. The LIGHT token serves as the central utility asset, powering transaction fees, incentivizing network participants through staking, and enabling community-led governance.
What Makes Bitlight Unique
- Native Bitcoin Smart Contracts: Unlike many Layer 2 solutions that rely on external blockchains or bridges, Bitlight focuses on native smart contract execution using the RGB protocol.
- Client-Side Validation: By keeping transaction data off-chain and only verifying it between the involved parties, Bitlight enhances privacy and reduces the data load on the Bitcoin network.
- Unified RGB-Lightning Wallet: The Bitlight Wallet is the first to integrate RGB asset support with the Lightning Network, providing a seamless user experience for complex Bitcoin-based transactions.
What Can You Use Bitlight for?
- Asset Issuance: Users and developers can issue new digital assets, including fungible tokens and NFTs, on the Bitcoin network.
- Scalable Payments: Leveraging the Lightning Network, Bitlight enables near-instant, low-cost microtransactions and cross-border settlements.
- Staking and Governance: LIGHT token holders can stake their assets to help secure the network and participate in voting on protocol upgrades.
- DeFi and PayFi: The infrastructure supports decentralized finance applications and real-time payment frameworks (PayFi) for AI agents and global commerce.
How Does Bitlight Work?
Bitlight operates as a scaling solution that combines the RGB protocol and the Lightning Network. It uses the Lightning Development Kit (LDK) as a foundation for its RGB Lightning Network Node (RLN), which manages the off-chain state of assets.
The protocol employs "single-use seals" and client-side validation to ensure transaction integrity. This means that instead of every node on the network verifying every transaction, only the sender and receiver validate the state transition, which is then anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain for finality. Protocol service fees within the Bitlight ecosystem are paid using the LIGHT token, which facilitates the execution of smart contracts and asset transfers.
Team Info and Investors
Bitlight Labs is the development team behind the project and is a member of the LNP/BP Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of the Lightning Network and RGB protocol. The project has received backing from prominent venture capital firms and strategic partners, including Amber Group and Fundamental Labs.
